Official practice resources from HK-dir

HK-dir is responsible for both exams, and publishes some material. It's worth using, and it's worth knowing where it stops.

What exists

Demo version of the exam. Shows what the exam looks like and how it works: three answer options, navigation, timing. Short, and meant to remove surprises on exam day, not to cover the syllabus.

The curriculum in social studies for adult immigrants. The regulation with the 25 competence goals. This is the answer key for what can come up.

The official study material. Free online, translated into all the languages the exam is offered in.

Practical information about the exams. Number of questions, time allowed, rules, and what happens on exam day.

Where it stops

None of these parts tell you what you don't know. The study material is written to cover the syllabus for everyone, not to find your specific gaps, and the demo is too short to measure anything.

That's the job a practice exam does: lots of questions, drawn afresh each time, with an explanation for every answer and an overview of which competence goals you're missing.

Use the official material to read, and practice exams to measure. The two don't do the same job.
