About Prøveappen

Prøveappen is an independent practice tool for Norway's two social studies exams: the samfunnskunnskapsprøven and the statsborgerprøven. We are not affiliated with the authorities that run the official exams. You register for the real exam with your municipality, not with us.

Where the content comes from

The practice questions are built on the official social studies curriculum and follow the same form as the real exam: multiple choice, three answers, in Norwegian. The explanations draw on open official sources, including UDI, IMDi and the law texts on Lovdata. When the exam or the curriculum changes, the content is updated.

The bank holds over 40,000 practice questions, with explanations in 28 languages. The questions themselves are always in Norwegian or one of the 24 official exam languages, the way the real exam is.

How it works

You take a full practice exam in real exam form, see where you stand, and keep practising where you are weakest. Every question has an explanation in your own language. Your first practice exam is free, no card needed. If you practise with us and do not pass the real exam, the pass guarantee in our terms applies.
