Prøveappen Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Prøveappen ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

The Norwegian-language version of these Terms is the authoritative version. This English translation is provided for convenience.

1. Purpose

Prøveappen offers practice exams and study resources to help you prepare for the Norwegian Social Studies Test (Samfunnskunnskapsprøven) and the Citizenship Test (Statsborgerprøven). We are not affiliated with HK-dir, UDI, municipal test centres, or any other public authority.

2. Account

  • You must provide accurate registration information.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding access to your account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for misuse, fraud, or breach of these Terms.

3. Purchases and Payment

Prøveappen sells time-limited digital access as a one-time purchase (3 days, 10 days, or 1 month). There are no subscriptions and no automatic renewals — access expires automatically at the end of the period.

Access to premium content is delivered immediately after payment. Prices are shown in the checkout before purchase and include VAT where applicable.

Payments are processed by our authorised reseller Link, LLC (a Stripe company), which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase.

4. Refunds and Right of Withdrawal

Under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven), consumers normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase of digital services.

For digital content delivered immediately, this right is lost once delivery has begun — provided the consumer has given express consent to immediate delivery and acknowledged that the right of withdrawal will be lost. By completing your purchase and starting to use Prøveappen, you give that consent.

If you have purchased access but not used any premium content, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing [email protected].

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under Norwegian consumer law, including the right to a refund for a defective service under the Consumer Purchases Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven).

5. Beståttgaranti (Pass Guarantee)

If you achieve a passing score on at least 10 consecutive completed practice exams in Prøveappen during your active access period, then sit the official Citizenship Test (Statsborgerprøven) or Social Studies Test (Samfunnskunnskapsprøven) and do not pass, we will extend your Prøveappen access free of charge until you pass.

To claim:

  1. Email [email protected] within 30 days of receiving your exam result.
  2. Attach documentation from the test centre showing that you did not pass (e.g. a result letter or a screenshot from Min side at HK-dir or the municipal test centre).

The guarantee applies to the same exam type you practised for and the same language in which you took the official exam. The extension is provided as a service extension, not as a monetary refund. It does not affect your statutory rights under the Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven) or the Consumer Purchases Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven).

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Copy or distribute substantial portions of our content.
  • Use automated scraping, harvesting, or other exploitation of the platform.
  • Share paid content publicly or resell access.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the platform (questions, explanations, user interface, logo, and trademarks) is owned by Vural Ventures Limited or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-transferable licence for personal study use.

8. Disclaimer

We strive to keep our practice material up to date and accurate, but we cannot guarantee that it will at all times correspond exactly to the official exam content. Passing the official exam depends on your individual preparation.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prøveappen is not liable for indirect or consequential damages or loss of profits. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant purchase. This limitation does not apply in cases of intent, gross negligence, or for consumer rights that cannot be waived by law.

10. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Changes apply from the date stated in the notice and do not affect purchases already completed.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. As a consumer, you always retain the mandatory rights of the law of your country of residence.

Disputes may also be brought before the Norwegian courts. As a consumer, you have the right to bring an action in the courts of your country of residence.
