What the goal actually says

That you should be able to give examples of some of the most important historical events and processes that have formed the basis for Norway as the country is today.

Notice the wording: that have formed the basis for. This is not a test of dates. It is a test of why.

What this means for your reading

Memorising dates is a poor use of your time. Understanding a few connections is a good use: why Norway got its own constitution, what the unions meant, what happened during the Second World War, and how oil changed the country.

Why it's worth the effort

Because one goal worth 8 per cent is worth six times as much as the easiest goals. If you're going to spend an evening on one topic, this one and school are the two that pay off the most.
