How many correct answers do you need to pass statsborgerprøven (the Norwegian citizenship test)?

You need 24 correct answers out of the 32 questions that count towards your score. That's 75 percent, which means you can get eight wrong.

What it takes

With three answer options per question, pure guessing gives you roughly 10 to 11 correct. The pass mark is 24. So you can't guess your way to a pass, but you don't need to know everything either.

What sets this test apart from the other one

The pass mark is almost the same as for samfunnskunnskapsprøven (the social studies test), 75 versus 76 percent. The difference is that this test is always in Norwegian.

That means two completely different things can trip you up: not knowing the material, or not having time to read the questions. If you only practise the facts, and never practise reading questions in Norwegian under time pressure, you're only practising half the test.

How to know you're ready

Take full practice exams in Norwegian, timed, and see if you score above 24 several times in a row. Scoring above the pass mark once could just be luck with the draw from the question bank.
